LIFE IN REGNUM CHRISTI

Making the Kingdom present with our lives

The 5 Elements of Life in Regnum Christi

Regnum Christi invites members to live their Christian faith actively, with enthusiasm, and love. It’s a vocation that helps members live their baptismal commitments and fulfill the mission of being salt & light in the world. All Regnum Christi members develop this way of life in their team life, spiritual life, apostolate, formation, and personal accompaniment. (RL 2-5)

RC Team or Community

Modeled on the first Christian communities, Regnum Christi members gather as communities of apostles to pray, to evangelize, and to support and encourage each other in the living of their Christian vocation. Team life provides a nucleus of spiritual friendship, a community that is there to share the gifts and challenges of daily life with each other, and a group of like-minded apostles who work together to bring the light of the Gospel to those around them.

Spiritual Life

The core of a Regnum Christi member’s life is to know Christ’s love, love him deeply in return, and share that love with others. All members share a common mission and spirituality, which each one lives according to their identity and specific vocation. On the path of spiritual growth, we have a spiritual director who accompanies you in following Christ, as recommended by the Church. At least once a year we do a Spiritual Exercises Retreat of several days, and we renew our yes to Christ in Regnum Christi.

Apostolic Life

The mission of a Regnum Christi member covers all aspects of life. It begins with the foundation of building their own relationship with God, living their God-given vocation and state in life as their personal path to holiness, and then impacting the world around them through a life lived in union with God that reaches out to others in evangelization and apostolate.

Formation

Integral formation is formation in the spiritual, human, intellectual, and apostolic areas of our lives. It allows us to form a strong and rich Catholic worldview, develop our capacity to go deeper in our relationship with Christ and to “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you for the reason for your hope.”

Accompaniment

Regnum Christi sees personal accompaniment as essential in following Christ. We seek to accompany each other as Christ accompanied people in the Gospel, person to person, discerning and following the path of holiness together. Personal accompaniment can be natural and spontaneous, as in friendships, or more formal and intentional, as in Spiritual Direction. Pope Francis states that the Church invites everyone, “priests, religious and laity – into this art of accompaniment which teaches us to remove our sandals before the sacred ground of the other (cf. Ex 3:5)… Missionary disciples accompanying missionary disciples.”

The Regnum Christi charism lived by adolescents

ECYD

In ECYD, adolescents live the Regnum Christi charism according to their own age, discover ways to grow in their friendship with Christ, and form themselves as apostles at the service of the Church. Adolescents can become Regnum Christi members at the age of 16, but the Regnum Christi charism can also be lived from an early age through ECYD.

The vocation to love for lay members

Marriage & Family

Together with other couples in Regnum Christi, we want to accompany you, and help you to discover the beauty of your marriage, the nucleus of your family. We are here to support you so that, with God’s help, you develop a true domestic Church in your home, where the Kingdom of Christ, Jesus himself, is present!

How good it is to be here

RC Young Adults

Through sections for young adults, Regnum Christi offers a way to grow in your relationship with Christ and evangelize with other like-minded young people. The RC vocation is a committed, joyful, and attractive style of Christianity that matures with you, and a mission in which you share your life with members of other vocations.

Consecrated Life in Regnum Christi

You may be called to Regnum Christi as a lay person, or through consecrated life. And within the consecrated life in Regnum Christi there are three vocations: the Legionaries of Christ (religious brothers and priests), Consecrated Women, and Lay Consecrated Men.

All four vocations share the same charism, the same identity and mission, but they each have their own particular way of living it, and among them there is a relationship of complementarity and co-responsibility.
