The Legionaries of Christ are a religious congregation made up of priests and brothers preparing for the priesthood, founded in 1941. We are part of Regnum Christi, and we share a spirituality, charism, and mission with the other members: Consecrated Women, Lay Consecrated Men, and lay members.

Christ-centeredness constitutes the fundamental and specific characteristic of the Legionary spirit. Therefore, aided by God’s grace, Legionaries should strive to make Christ Jesus the center, standard and example of their lives as religious, priests and apostles. They should seek to know, love and experience him intimately, above all in the Gospel, the Eucharist and the Cross, and strive to imitate him in a special way through self-giving to their neighbor.

We collaborate with other members of Regnum Christi in our evangelizing, educational, apostolic, and missionary work.
At the Novitiate & College of Humanities in Cheshire, CT, seminarians spend four years together with other young men who are seeking to discover if God is calling them to the priesthood as a Legionary of Christ.
Sacred Heart Apostolic School is a high school for young men who feel drawn to the possibility of the priestly life and vocation. Each student is formed to understand his identity as a Catholic man and to freely respond to God’s plan for his life with the heart of an apostle.

As Legionaries of Christ, we live religious life in community. Our preparation for ordination takes 10 to 12 years. Our Ratio Institutionis is a beautiful document, which not only includes the stages of formation, but also the identity and lifestyle of the Legionary priest.

Legionaries of Christ around the world
As of the end of 2021, the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ has communities in 24 countries. It is organized into nine territories and two delegations. The Congregation has ten seats of general or territorial government and 88 communities of apostolate. In Rome, the Legionaries have a college of philosophy, two colleges of theology, and a community of priests pursuing further studies. There is a residence for priests in Mexico, and a college of the humanities in the United States, as well as six novitiates and nine vocational centers in various territories.
The Legionaries also have a Pontifical International College in Rome for seminarians and diocesan priests, as well as an Interdiocesan Seminary and a Theological Institute, both in São Paulo, Brazil.

the North American Territory
Fr. Shawn Aaron
Territorial Director
Nació el 13 de junio de 1970 en Madrid. Fue alumno de Everest School Monteclaro, miembro del ECYD y de la sección de jóvenes del Regnum Christi. Antes de entrar en la vida religiosa completó su licenciatura en Medicina y Cirugía por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. En 1996 fue colaborador del RC en la sección de jóvenes de Roma. En 1997 entró en el noviciado de los Legionarios de Cristo en Salamanca. Estudió Filosofía y Teología por el Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum. Fue ordenado sacerdote en 2007. Ha participado en varios Capítulos Generales de la Legión de Cristo y en Asambleas Generales del Regnum Christi.
De 2007 a 2010 fue superior de comunidad en Valencia. De 2010 al 2013 y de 2015 al 2016 fue superior de la comunidad de La Cota, Madrid. Su trabajo apostólico se ha desarrollado esencialmente con los jóvenes, en el acompañamiento a matrimonios y en el mundo de la educación. Fue director de la sección de jóvenes del Regnum Christi en Valencia, y ha sido director de Everest School Monteclaro desde 2010 hasta 2020.
De 2013 a 2020 fue consejero territorial de los Legionarios de Cristo en España, y en 2020 fue nombrado director territorial por un periodo de tres años.
Es miembro del Colegio Directivo Territorial del Regnum Christi, del que ejerce la presidencia.
Fr. David Daly
Territorial Vicar
El P. Pedro Castañera Ribé, LC., nació en Barcelona (España). En 1984 se consagró como laico a Dios en el Regnum Christi, en 2004 entró en la Congregación de los Legionarios de Cristo, y en 2009 fue ordenado sacerdote.
Estudió en la American School y comenzó estudios en la Escuela Tecnológica de Ingeniería Industrial de Barcelona. Es Bachiller en Filosofía y Teología por el Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum.
Fue director del Instituto Cumbres Bugambilias en Guadalajara (México) durante cuatro años y del Instituto Cumbres San Javier durante seis años. Ha sido delegado del director territorial para los más de 80 centros educativos del Regnum Christi y después delegado para el apostolado en el Norte de México. Ha fungido como consejero de la Legión en el territorio del Norte de México. y tiene una dilatada experiencia como orientador matrimonial, familiar y de adolescentes.
Es superior de la comunidad de legionarios de Cristo en Barcelona desde 2017, y director de Highlands School Barcelona desde 2018.
En 2017 fue nombrado consejero territorial de los Legionarios de Cristo en por tres años, y de nuevo en 2020 por tres años más, fungiendo como vicario territorial.
Fr. Steven Reilly
Councilor
Nació en Madrid, y es miembro de Regnum Christi desde 1995. El 15 septiembre de 1996 se incorporó como laico consagrado, y en 2004 entró en el noviciado de los Legionarios de Cristo en Salamanca. Fue ordenado sacerdote en Roma el 24 de enero del 2010.
Estudió Economía en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, y en la Anáhuac de México, Bachillerato de filosofía y teología en Roma y el Máster de Profesorado en la UNIR. Durante cinco años trabajó en los centros educativos del Regnum Christi en México, fue director de los jóvenes de Regnum Christi en Sevilla, y durante seis años delegado del director territorial del Apostolado del Regnum Christi en España. Desde 2020 es director de Everest School Monteclaro, en Madrid.
Dirige a nivel nacional el apostolado del “Sagrado Corazón de Jesús para vivir en familia” desde el 2018 que se fundó.
En 2017 fue nombrado consejero territorial por tres años. En 2020 fue nombrado consejero de nuevo por otro periodo de 3 años.
Fr. John Bartunek

El P. Florencio Sánchez, L.C., nació el 11 de octubre de 1951 en la Ciudad de México. Estudió en el Instituto Cumbres de esa ciudad. Se incorporó como laico al Regnum Christi en julio de 1969 y como consagrado a Dios el 13 de abril de 1975. Poco después entró en la Congregación de los Legionarios de Cristo, y fue ordenado sacerdote el 20 de agosto de 1983.
Estudió la carrera de Actuaría en la Universidad Anáhuac México Norte. Es licenciado en filosofía por la Pontificia Universidad Gregoriana. Bachillerato en Teología por la Pontificia Universidad de Santo Tomás.Desde 1983 ha ejercido su ministerio en Madrid como director de la sección de jóvenes (1983-1991), de la sección de señoras (1991 al 2000) y de 2015 al 2018 de las secciones de adultos. Fue superior de las casas de apostolado de Conde de la Cimera de 1983 a 2012 y de Cerro del Coto de 2018 a 2021. Ha sido capellán de la Universidad Francisco de Vitoria en Madrid de 2005 a la fecha, donde dirige el Instituto John Henry Newman.
Fue nombrado consejero en 2020 por un periodo de tres años.
Fr. Juan José Hernandez

Supreme Authority:
the General Chapter
The General Chapter, representing the entire Congregation, must be a sign and example of unity in charity. It has supreme authority over the Congregation, in accordance with Canon law and its own regulations.
General Government:
the General Director
and his Council
Assisted by his Council, the General Director has authority over the entire Congregation, the territories, the communities, and the members. He is elected by the ordinary General Chapter for a period of six years.
Additionally, the Constitutions also establish these offices in the General Government:

Territorial Government:

Assisted by his Council, the Territorial Director has authority over all the members, communities, institutions, and works of the Congregation in the territory. He is appointed by the Director General.
